Keep Calm and Turn the Power Off

Sometimes, your iPad or computer simply won't work properly no matter what you do. Whether the screen freezes, the gestures won't work, or an app doesn't work properly, there is one solution that works 99% of the time – power off your device. To power off your iPad, press the power button down for a few seconds and then at the top of the screen you will be prompted to 'slide to power off'. After this, the iPad will likely take a few seconds to completely power down, at which time you can turn it back on by again pressing the power button. For your laptop, go to the menu and select 'Shut Down...'.

Powering off your iPad or laptop should be done at least once per week. This will prevent the applications from leaving behind any corrupted memory and will restore any settings etc…. to their known state.. This also holds true for your iPhone.

So the lesson here is to power off your devices once per week in an effort to minimize potential problems with your tech.
